Timeline Tips For Your Wedding

Congratulations... Lets Have Some Fun Planning Your Event.  From The "Yes" At The Proposal... To The Honeymoon.  We're offering a step by step Event Planner to help tackle every task.  Feel free to use this Event Planning Timeline and make order of the chaos of organizing your Big Day!!

 

Timeline:  9 - 12 Months Before The Wedding

  • Meet with the officiant to discuss the ceremony, any premarital counseling required and a time for the rehearsal.
  • Meet with musicians to select the music for the ceremony.
  • Along with the groom's mother assistance, compile the guest list.
  • Order invitations, announcements and personal stationery.
  • Make honeymoon plans and reservations.
  • Assist the groom's family with rehearsal dinner plans.
  • Create a wedding registry for easy gift giving.
  • Check state marriage license requirements.
  • Choose and order wedding bands.
  • Purchase attendants gifts.
  • Select wedding accessories: (guest book, ring pillow, favors and of course, something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue).
  • Make sure you have 2 money bags for the money dance.

 

Timeline:  3 - 6 Months Before The Wedding

  • Address the invitations and announcements
  • Visit a formal-wear specialist with fiance
  • Discuss menu details with The Vinewood coordinator. (rehearsal dinner, reception menus & gift party menus).
  • Send guests information on local accommodations.
  • Arrange transportation from the ceremony to receptions.

 

Timeline:  2 - 4 Months Before The Wedding

  • Sit for wedding portrait.
  • Write thank-you notes as wedding gifts arrive.
  • Have programs printed for the ceremony.
  • Discuss life insurance, a will and other legal documents with fiance.
  • Select a gift for your new spouse.
  • Submit wedding announcements to local newspapers.
  • Order the wedding cake and groom’s cake.
  • Select friends ~ relatives to be your cake cutters.
  • With the reception in mind, enjoy dance lessons together.
  • Choose a hairstyle that compliments bridal headpiece and schedule time with makeup artist.

 

Timeline:  21 Days Before The Wedding

  • Notify The Vinewood of the final number of guests.
  • Review final details with all other wedding vendors.
  • Confirm honeymoon reservations and begin packing.
  • Confirm transportation.
  • Go over details with attendants, such as accommodations, transportation and the complete schedule of events.
  • Confirm final rehearsal dinner arrangements.
  • Along with groom, write as many thank-you notes as possible before the wedding.
  • Put together a “survival kit” for the ceremony with extra hosiery, nail polish, scissors, needle and thread.
  • Secure the marriage license with fiance.

 

Timeline:  1 - 2 Days Before The Wedding

  • Greet out-of-town guests as they arrive or have someone meet them at the airport.
  • Attend the bridesmaids luncheon.
  • Pack everything needed for the ceremony.
  • Get a massage, manicure and pedicure.
  • Attend the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

 

Your Wedding Day
